Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Best Quality

So I finally got this TV for a multi reason based using. I just replaced my G5 with a Mac Pro and got a PS3 slim for the bed room as well while the older PS3 is hooked up to our 60" Sony SXRD. I needed a larger monitor for my Mac Pro, but also wanted a TV for the room and we were originally going to go with the 24" Cinema display from Apple. Amazing unit but is only for the computer and that is it. With that said, I turned to Sony.

The XBR9 does a great job with blacks and colors so when my Mac is running and im in Final Cut or iPhoto, the picture quality is great (I went DVI to HDMI) and when I switch the input over to the PS3 (HDMI), everything continues to look fantastic. So Games/Blu-ray and TV are great.

Again, I have to stress though like other reviewers, the XBR9 does not look as good as the XBR8 because its lower in the series! I mean look at the price difference for the love of god. So please, dont think that somehow Sony has gone back in their mindset. Just 2 different series. Get more detail about Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV.

Cheapest Samsung PN50B650 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

Plasma vs. LCD/LED. There is NO comparison when looking at large 50"+ screens. The black tones and refresh rate are two of the many reasons why I chose plasma. A refresh rate like 120Hz or 240 Hz is only important if it's a LCD or LED. Plasma's refresh rate is so fast that they don't even need to publish it. And a contrast ratio of 3,000,000-to-1 is WAY better than 100,000-to-1. Even a 5th grader can do the math on this one. 30 times the contrast ration means what? A better contrast between light and dark tones on the screen. Choose plasma for either for the picture or the price. And Samsung is the best overall value from any reviewer you can investigate. Either way you are picking a winner! You won't be sorry.Buy Samsung PN50B650 Lowest Price, Order Now! ---> Click Here!

it has exceeded everything that I could have hoped for. The picture is perfect and the sound from the
tv is above average. I picked up this tv from Best Buy for $899. The 80,000:1 resolution is what sold me. Compare to a Sony, and there is no comparison. Oh and the 120HZ is two thumbs up.Get more detail about Samsung LN40B630 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color.

I recently bought this tv and the experience has been great all around. The tv itself is completely amazing. The picture quality is jaw dropping, with beautiful colors, deep blacks and amazingly vivid detail. I have seen lots of other HDTVs (including ones I have owned) and this tv beats them all hands down. I really couldn't be happier with the quality of the picture this tv produces. All of the reviews were spot on in this regard.

The external aesthetic look of the tv is also very nice. It looks classy and the build quality seems a step above.

The experience of ordering from Amazon was simply a pleasure. I ordered the tv on a Monday night and received it early Thursday morning, only a little over two days later. I couldn't believe how fast it got to me. The price was great and the tv got to me in perfect condition. Amazon is the best.

I couldn't be happier with the tv or the buying experience. A+++Get more detail about Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P42G10 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.

I bought this with birthday money and it is worth every penny. I don't watch too much TV but got it mostly to use as a monitor for my laptop. It doesn't come with a VGA cable but you can pick one up at Target like I did for about $15 which isn't bad considering how useful it is. The TV came very well packed and was extremely easy to put onto the stand. I don't intend to wall mount it and the stand it came with is very stable and I have it sitting on a desk 3 feet off the ground. The TV also swivels on the stand about 45 degrees. Since the resolution is only 720p its not great for a monitor but it isn't bad at all. Text is sometimes hard to read but that is easily fixed by enlarging text in your web browser.

I went to several [...] looking for the right TV. I watch a lot of sports and a lot of the TVs in the stores had so much motion blur during fast motion it would've been very upsetting to purchase such an awful TV. I think the problem was the screen refresh time because most of the TVs in the store had a 6ms refresh time while this has 4. If you plan on watching sports or fast action movies do not get anything higher than 4ms or you will be disappointed. I really liked the Samsung but in the end decided I didn't want to pay neither the CA sales tax nor the CA recycle tax so I decided to purchase online. If you don't have a large sales tax or a BS recycle tax then you might be better off purchasing in the store so you don't have to wait for it. Strangely enough very few stores carry LG but I decided to take a risk and buy it online and it has paid off very nicely. I wouldn't even think of trading this for another one (that is until 3D TVs come out).

As a TV it is great all around and the menu offers a variety of settings so you can really play around and see what suits you best. The energy saving feature is another plus that goes above and beyond what I got this for. I am using about a 20 year old set of bunny ears and I can get most local stations in HD though your mileage may vary depending on where you live. Don't waste $$ on an "HD antenna" if you don't need it--it's just a cruel marketing ploy to get you to buy something a standard set of bunny ears will get you just fine.

The only drawbacks I found with this TV is that it has no jack for earphones and it only has 2 HDMI plugs. I don't use HDMI for my set up so its not really a drawback for me but it may be for others. Since I mainly use the TV with my computer I just use my computer's earphone jack but since the volume on this TV has a great range, I found I don't really need earphones as it can be heard just as clearly at a low volume as it can at a higher volume. The speakers give it a surround sound type feel and since they are "hidden", I think it looks better aesthetically than say a Vizio that has them jutting out on the bottom.

Overall its a great TV for the price and I would purchase again if given a second chance.Get more detail about LG 32LH20 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black.

I was planning to buy a LCD for so long (almost 6 months), and then after a lot of research I bought this TV 2 months back and since then have started watching TV a lot. Truly a great buy !! The football games on Sunday could not have been better. With a 46" screen and amazing picture quality in HD, and to that when you the loud sound (considering that I had an older TV before), watching Sunday games becomes awesome.

I am thinking of getting another Sony this holiday season, as we have only one TV and I want another one in my GAME room.

My 32 inch Samsung LCD was great for five months then died a spectacular death. While watching it one day, a huge spark arced out of the top of the TV, and it was absolutely dead. That was the start of my trouble as warranty service was horrendous. I made nearly two dozen phone calls to Samsung, their warranty service contractor and the various technicians. Scheduled service visits would result in no one showing up. It took nearly a month and a half to get replacement parts installed. I'll never buy a Samsung product again.Get more detail about Samsung LN32B460 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.

I got this one for 600. And I think for a 42" plasma tv for 720p, its a good deal. May not be the best but well, prices keep dropping all the time. You need to buy it at SOME point. Anyway, the unit has not yet given me any trouble. However, I am only watching normal TV on it. Havent done any gaming etc. Not yet atleast. So I cannot comment on the screen refresh rate and HD quality etc yet.

The options within the TV are easy to use and quite adjustable. Sound quality is decent for them being tv speakers. It has enough HDMI and other ports so thats a good thing. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. For the features Iv given 4 stars, its because, like i mentioned previously, I havent tested the limits yet. So I dont know just how good it can be. Hopefully other reviews cover that. Get more detail about Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-P42X1 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV.

Happy with this combo. We replaced an old, box of a tv in the kitchen and gained a lot of counter space. It is just the right size for a kitchen counter. We just hooked up the old rabbit ears and the Toshiba delivers great picture and sound quality without a fancy new antenna. This TV is great at a lot of things, but none of that matters because it is VERY reflective - even at night, you see the reflection of even the smallest light sources. We got this for a bright room because my experience had been that LCDs are less reflective than plasmas, but it turns out that for this TV at least, that's not the case. A much better bargain and quality would be the new Panasonic plasmas (G series for instance) where the 54" THX certified display is less reflective, better picture, less money.Get more detail about Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV with Charcoal Grey Touch of Color.

I like this LCD TV. The picture and sound are nice and clear. But unless you sit right in front of the TV, you'll see some kind of faded pictures. Also, don't try to use 50 foot composite video cable if your TV is 50 ft away from your STB/DVD because what you'll see is a poor picture. Use component video cables if you can afford. Don't use CAT6 to make component video cables; they won't work at least for this TV. I made three 50 ft component video cables using telephone cables, and they work fine. Good luck.Get more detail about Samsung LN26B360 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.

My husband and I have been looking at LCD HDTV's for months. We have looked both on line and in stores. After reading many reviews, I considered thIs Philips to be the perfect buy. Also doing additional reseach on his own, my husband approached me with his "perfect buy" which turned out to be the same tv.

We noticed on Amazon.com that this tv was on sale at Target for $699.00 with free shipping. After a quick trip to Target to physcially look at the quality of this tv, we found the $ 699.00 deal at the local Target store. We were so impressed with the quailty of this tv that we bought it.

The price was right ...the tv is GREAT quaility!!!

Just received this unit yesterday...found it to be perfect in every respect.

Hooked up the cable, took the 'auto' install defaults, it completely installed itself, and was running in just a few minutes.

The base / tilt angle is adjustable and simple to do;

The factory setting for the speaker sound was sort of 'small' and 'tinny' sounding...so I went into the menu, found several other sound choices, and found that the choice for 'movies' gave a far better sound with enough 'bass' to eliminate the 'tinny' sound.

We have the same exact same Samsung (40") model in the den and this identical 19" model in the workshop is just perfect.Get more detail about Samsung LN19A650 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color.

I purchased the 32LB30QR version of this television that includes a built-in DVD player for a decent price (DVD a little noisy when activating but decent). Early in the day I brought it home and set it up, which wasn't entirely difficult at all. The picture quality was satisfactory and the DVD player was adequate enough. I was pretty satisfied with what I had...until I wanted to watch a movie that night. I turned out the lights, and lay in bed to see how Star Wars (Episode 4) looked on the new TV. To my annoyance, I had a bright blue spotlight interrogating me all the way across the room from the lower right corner of the TV. This, of course was the power light. It's red when the TV is off but blue when the TV is on. I thought it was kind of bright during the day but figured it was no big deal...I was wrong. It was way too bright for night viewing. I searched the settings and find nothing to dim or deactivate it. Since the light was immediately above the sensor for the remote control, I had to cover the light with tape and a small rubber stopper. Speaking of the sensor, the remote control was kind of weak. I had to press the buttons several times to get a reaction from the TV. Keep in mind I had this problem even before I placed the stopper over the light. I see this issue is present with other reviews on other sites as well. Maybe a universal remote will suffice, but I may never know unless I read a review.

Needless to say, I returned the TV the next day because I believe I shouldn't have to make modifications (even simple tape-and-whatever) or grumble over having to repeatedly push remote control buttons to enjoy something brand-spanking new. Overall it was a decent model but these issues, especially that light, are real deal-breakers. I'm not sure I would recommend the 32lb30QR unless you can deal with these.Get more detail about ProScan 32LB30Q 32" LCD HDTV - 720p, 1366x768, 1200:1, 5ms, 2x HDMI, Black.

I purchased this TV for our bedroom. While the picture quality and sound are both great one thing I was not aware of and find annoying is the light on the frame, with the TV in the bedroom, the light is on all the time. It is annoying at night and there is no way to turn it off. It's like having a night light on all the time. We do cover it with a book but I must say...why is it there? It is drawing electricity unnecessarity. With all the studies of green products, you would think Vizio would make this an optional light. It was one thing I never even thought about while shopping for a TV.Get more detail about VIZIO 22" Class 1080p LCD HDTV - Black (VA22LFHDTV10T).

Buying Sylvania LC320SLX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

.

I bought my Sylvania LC320SLX last night expecting an average quality television. It looked pretty good in the store, and the price was right. Unfortunately, Sylvania for some reason didn't choose to make it compatible with Dish (and from what I've seen on the Web, DirectTV) remote controls. Now, admittedly, our Dish box when we bought the Sylvania was on the old side and not really capable of taking full advantage of the LC320SLX's capabilities (no HDMI port, for example), so our picture quality on rabbit ears was higher than from the old Dish DVR/tuner box (which is standard NTSC).

I expected to be able to control my new Sylvania LCD TV with the same remote that has controlled several other televisions, VCRs and DVD player/recorders with no trouble whatsoever. I was disappointed. I went through every code in the Dish satellite receiver manual, in their web site, and I scanned all of the codes in the remote using the procedure in the Dish receiver manual.

I called Dish technical support, who at least tried to work through the issue with me, to no avail. Then they gave me a technical support number for Sylvania, which turned out to be not for the TV I just bought. Calling the technical support number in the TV's service manual, I was told forthrightly that it was not Sylvania's problem that their TV won't work with a standard Dish remote control, which is bull. When you make a TV set you're responsible for seeing that the remotes already on the market wiil operate it.

Sylvania should - at the very least - warn prospective purchasers on the label of the box the TV comes in that this television is not compatible with non-HD Dish or DirectTV remote control systems. You don't spend $400 after taxes to get a TV that mostly works.

A few days after buying the Sylvania LCD set, we went over to Dish HD (high-definition) service. After we input the remote TV code 672 from the NEW HD satellite receiver manual, our NEW Dish remotes DO control our new Sylvania LC320SLX LCD television. This still doesn't excuse Sylvania for marketing a television that won't work with a sizable portion of the satellite TV receivers in the US market. A label on the box warning consumers of this is still needed.

Now that the problem with the Dish remote has been resolved, I can say that the television has a very clear picture; it has a very good selection of jacks which will allow the user to connect three HDMI accessories (say, a Dish or Direct TV satellite receiver, a late-model video game console and a DVD player/recorder, or a home computer) at once. In addition, there are connectors for S-Video, component-level and composite analog video, and several sets of analog audio (as well as a digital audio line). There's also an audio-out line which, connected to our living room stereo amplifier, allows us to improvise a home theater very well.

The ease of use of the remote controls for adjusting picture and sound quality are above average - there's even an on-screen "equalizer" to allow adjustment of the built-in audio amplifier and speaker system, and several pre-set groups of settings for picture quality you can select with a few keystrokes. The screws which hold the chintzy stand on the television (if you're not going to hang it on your wall) are easy to lose, so if you see them, hang on to them. We STILL haven't found the AAA batteries for the remote control.

I would summarize by saying that the Sylvania LC320SLX is a very well-laid out and executed system, and certainly worth the $379.95 (before taxes) I paid for it at our local Target store. Don't buy any cables if you plan to upgrade your satellite or cable system to HD, because your service provider will probably have the needed cables and install them for you for free. And be sure NOT to spend the usual $26-$30 for HDMI cables at the store where you buy your television - Amazon's affiliated stores can sell you cables of the same quality or better for under $6, and even with shipping, the cost will still be under $10 - well worth taking the time to shop amazon.com first.

And don't buy the set unless you have access to lots of HD channels over the air (here in Denver we have around 30 over-the-air digital channels, about half of them HD, although a third of those are either televangelist or Spanish-language stations) or over your cable or satellite connections, because you won't be able to take advantage of all the digital goodness of the Sylvania LC320SLX.

I guess I should have changed the channel while I was staring at this TV in the showroom. Every time you change the channel an annoying (and LARGE) menu screen pops up that obliterates the top-left corner of the screen with:

1) The name of the show being televised (not bad)
2) The type of format display you selected as your default (Zoom In, Automatic, 14.x display, etc.,) I don't really need to be reminded.
3) The LANGUAGE mode you selected...come on...

This pop-up menu is LARGE and blocks out a very big portion of the picture. It also takes too long to load and disappear - so it's very annoying while 'surfing' through channels.

I looked through the manual to see if there is a way of disabling this feature; but alas, I couldn't find one. I'll call Customer Support and if the popup cannot be disabled - I'm considering returning it. Get more detail about Magnavox 42MF439B/F7 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.

Bought one from [...] after reading few very good reviews here at Amazon.com and had to return it later. It had a mechanical fault. Appearance of pink colored vertical lines top to bottom for about 2" to 3". Google-d about this problem and sounds like few had this problem with this Plasma LG TV. Returned it to the local sears store and checked with the store agent about this problem. Our Toshiba loses its memory for a single channel, interestingly the strongest channel, in our area. The only recourse is to rescan, taking about 2-3 minutes when this happens, and it happens two or three times a week. We tried the double rescan process recommnended by Toshiba and a similar process found on the internet, but neither has fixed the problem.

Contacting Toshiba customer service reveals that to get warranty service on it requires us to send it off, at our cost, to the east coast for servicing. If the service center finds no problem, the service work is on us, also.

I find that to be totally unacceptable, and will live with it until it ticks me off enough and then buy a Sony or Sharp, as I should have in the first place.Get more detail about Toshiba 19AV500U 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Black).

The display is nice overall - it has overscan of around 5-10% which for videophiles that are tech savvy and want to use 1080p content - blue ray, etc, pc, xbox, then consider the tradeoffs. For those that don't know what overscan is... Overscan is when the projector throws the image over the edges of the display to make a sharp edge (non-wavy) around the display. In 1080p mode, this means you are not seeing the entire image. 1080p is more like 1000p. This is fine for movies and tv and such, but if you play games, have a HTPC, xbox, etc. then a projection tv with automatic overscan that cannot be adjusted is NOT for you. Wii 480p is fine of course, and I set the HTPC to 1700ishx1000ish. This gives a 1/2 inch block around the edge and you see the entire image. Of course, xbox isn't so capable, and you may have problems playing favorite games - ie: stat bars chopped off / offscreen.. etc.? Colors are crisp, good controls overall to edit how you like it. TV has NO split feature, unlike earlier models (boo). The display is natively 120hz, but you cannot pair a PC via HDMI to it at 120hz. Watching blue ray vs. upscaled DVD is essentially the same quality. Also, you can use an older 5.1 off the audio output if you don't have HDMI 7.1. The screen has a matte-like finish; which is good for watching in sunnier rooms. There is little / no glare. The downside is that this matte-like finish can make watching non-1080p content (including 720p) appear grainy; we watch ours at 9.5 feet average. Screen tearing is essentially non-existent on DVD/blueray/tv playback, but noticable on PC mode when running in 60hz.
If your focus is movie/tv/wii - 5*. If you have xbox/ps3 aspirations suggest you move on to a 65" lcdtv/plasma 2*, pc 4*.

I bought this TV from Aldi's when it was on sale. I was worried about the quality, but have to say that I am very happy with it. I use it as my second TV in the bedroom. The HD picture is beautiful. However, to be picky, the backlight is not completely even and the blacks are not as black as most more expensive TV's these days. Then again, for the price I paid, I did not expect Sony or Samsung quality. PS3 games also look gorgeous on this via HDMI. The speakers are fairly weak, I had a leftover set of computer speakers which I plugged into this TV and it sounds great now. If anyone has a region hack for this, I would appreciate it if you could post it.Get more detail about Sansui HDLCDVD260 26-Inch Widescreen LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player.

The one-star reviews complain about "sparkles". I've had this TV for almost a year and the only time I've noticed sparkles is sitting about 6 inches from it.

The USB function isn't great - it only works with "Cruzer" brand USB drives - I couldn't get the USB input in the TV to work with card readers, iPods, ect. Not really a problem for me since there's so many ways to get networked music into this TV.

The picture and the sound are so good I'll give it 5 stars. Once you watch a Blu Ray movie on this TV everything else is going to look inferior - I've never seen a better TV on the market, though I guess they've started making slimmer, LED TVs for like a million dollars.Get more detail about Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-40Z4100/S 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Silver.

Samsung LN22B350 22" black 720p LCD HDTV Best Quality

This was my first LCD HD purchase. (I'm late to the party.) I chose Samsung, and paid a premium, for one silly feature, which is an on/off timer. Most TVs have sleep timers, but I used my little old 14" JVC to wake up! I couldn't find a reliable maker of LCDs that included an on timer except Samsumg. It not only has an on timer, it has three! Perfect for when you're going to be away and want your TV to go off and on at different intervals to make it appear that someone is home. And of course, to serve as my alarm clock.

Sadly, I had to return the unit the following day. Why? Because even though the specs say that it has one composite and one component input, you can only use one or the other as it only has one video jack. Depending on your cable, you plug the video link into the one jack, and the audio into either of the remaining based on whether it's composite or component. You cannot have two machines. I had my old VCR (yes, how quaint that I still use one) and a middle-aged DVD player--one of each. Of course if you have later model attachments, you can use the HDMI, etc. But be advised, this set has limitations for older toys.

As for the sound quality I have read about here and on other sites, I didn't notice anything particularly wrong with it. There are about 5 different settings and admittedly one of them is tinny, but the sound was much richer when set to "movie," and it includes an equalizer of sorts. The sound was perfectly enjoyable. So if connecting components doesn't mean anything to you, I recommend it for bedroom or kitchen placement.Get more detail about Samsung LN22B350 22" black 720p LCD HDTV.

Fit my needs nicely - a bedroom TV that does not have black unused borders for cable TV. I don't subscribe to HD so why have a widescreen taking up space! Unit does a good job - a few too many setup options but since I can use it in a vehicle too I guess someday I'll need them. 12' viewing distance works out well - any further and screen would be too small for program menu info. Took a little looking to find right code for FIOS remote! Nice unit for the price!!Get more detail about Audiovox FPE2006DV 20-Inch LCD TV with Built-In DVD Player, Card Port, and USB.

Samsung 46a860
I researched and waited for over 6 months before finally deciding to acquire the Samsung 46 inch 860. We are extremely pleased with the decision. Great picture and it was easy to install. Preferred this LCD because it is easy to manuever and although the size is almost too big for the bedroom, it is enjoyable to be the last thing you see before closing your eyes for the night. Highly recommend Crutchfield in their response and delivery....ThanksGet more detail about Samsung LN46A860 - 46" LCD TV - 120Hz - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - piano black with deep blue trim.

Pioneer PDP-6020FD 60-Inch Class KURO Plasma HDTV

I ordered this TV with Amazon's "White Glove" delivery. The delivery company called one day ahead for an appointment and when they arrived, they unpacked the TV, installed the stand and turned it on to make sure it worked. Then they hauled off all boxes. The picture quality is astounding! I hired a couple of local guys to wall mount it and connect it to my Dish receiver, Samsung Blu-ray and Bose sound system. I also bought a Harmony One universal remote which I highly recommend.

I am very happy with the great service from Amazon and I love the TV!!!Buy Pioneer PDP 6020FD Lowest Price, Order Now! Click Here!

This is the second KLV 3913 I have purchased within the last year. The first reflected so badly from the screen we could not enjoy the picture. We returned it and (unfortunately) bought a Memorex MVUC821 (have had nothing but trouble with that - first DVD didn't work, then remote gave us trouble constantly and we bought new; now the unit is stuck on icon displaying "TV Guardian Information" on screen and "Initial" above -- will not play anything).

Bought a new KLV3913 hoping something had been done about reflecting screen; however, the new one reflects just like a mirror.

I don't see anyone else complaining about this. Am I missing something? The Memorex did have a protective clear plastic over the screen and also reflected until that was pealed off. I don't see any such protective peal off plastic on the Audiovox. It was just wrapped in plastic wrap.

Any suggestions?Get more detail about Audiovox 12" 720p Under-Cabinet LCD TV/DVD Combo - KLV3913.

Unless you want an inch thin LCD TV, this should be your TV of choice. I went to Sixth Avenue where they had an exceptionally large selection of LCD and Plasma TVs. This TV had the best picture quality of any LCD TV they had. I was planning on getting a Samsung 1080P 120Hz thin LED TV (could not quite swallow the price of the 240Hz) model until I read reviews of streaks in the picture quality when watching the TV in a dark room. I then moved on to the less expensive non LED Samsung 240Hz LCD TV which is still $400 more than this Toshiba. Luckily, the salesperson asked me to take a look at this TV first. This TV is back-lit LED which makes the TV thicker, but provides better picture quality than the side-lit LEDs in the thin Samsung. The 240Hz was a real bonus--especially in a TV that sells for this price. I have had the TV for a month now and could not be happier with it. I have had friends that visit comment that this TV has the best picture quality they have ever seen in any TV. This is the best 46-inch LCD TV you can buy that sells for a price that's unbelievably low when compared to the competition. It might not be the thinnest LCD LED TV, but it does have the best quality picture in any LCD TV. It is just one awesome TV.Get more detail about Toshiba REGZA Cinema Series 46SV670U 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with LED Backlight and ClearScan 240, Black.

This TV has a good picture, but it's a little dim even with the settings turned up, and there's always that fear of burn-in. I had a logo stuck in the bottom corner for a couple days and it made me wish I'd bought an LCD. It eventually went away, but now I have to keep my settings turned down and I have to constantly worry about what I'm watching. If you have the money, buy a good LCD. Got this to use as a computer monitor & eventually as a DVD player monitor. Way too much work to get the picture quality(brightness, contrast, color, etc.) correct. Screen size was not great for movie viewing-poor choice on my part-not the product's fault. HOWEVER the vendor was very easy to deal with & very cooperative when it came to the return process-they get a gold star for effort.Get more detail about Auria EQ2488F 24-Inch 1080p LCD TV, Piano Black.

I have the Mitsubishi now for a couple of weeks and love it! I agree with most of all the great reviews posted here. I have not read all of them so if I mention something covered already, sorry. I have Directv with the HD DVR (HR 22) and after playing with the setup determined that setting the 1080p selection (via the remote control setup options on the Directv HR 22) was not enough for the optimum picture. I went to the HR 22 and physically selected the 1080i on right of the front panel. This seemed to give me the best resolution.
Also, I noticed a lot of owners complaining about the remote not being easy to use for adjustments (which can be a bit tricky).
This tip might make life a little easier. On the very bottom right of the remote control is a "more" button. This brings up a sub-menu that quickly lets you make adjustments for the picture, audio and even the picture mode (Wide-Normal-Zoom), that I could not find in the regular menu options.
Final verdict:
The 65 inch set is a bargain and performs beautifully. No regrets, just great enjoyment.
Now I have to buy a Bluray player!!Get more detail about Mitsubishi WD-65737 65-Inch 1080p 120Hz Home Theater DLP HDTV.

The Mitsubishi 73" rear projection has proven to be all that I had hoped it would be. I was debating to get this model with NetCast, or model 50PS60 without NetCast. 50PS60 has a lot of strong reviews for its value and I was set on it over other brands. Because I have two kids that always wanted to watch some kids videos on YouTube, I figure I'll get this higher end model and try out the NetCast feature.

I won't review the stuff that is pretty much the same as 50PS60. Let just say I'm happy with the picture and the look. Sound is better than most similar flat panels. I do like the speakers hidden but still end it up getting a Bose Cinemate for my small entertainment room.

Because built-in access to YouTube is what I was looking forward to primarily, I tried that first. Typing in search phrase via on-screen keyboard is slow and as inconvenient as with PS3, Wii, XBox, et. al. without a keyboard. But you can sign-in to your YouTube account, and it will allow you to choose from your favorites. That's better as I can pre-add the videos that my boys want to watch repeatedly. Unfortunately, it doesn't support playlist yet so I can't have too many videos in my favorites or scrolling will be equally painful to typing. Others such as playing popular videos were not interested to me. Streaming is reasonable with my DSL. Most of time there is initial delay after playing for few seconds but never after. On few bad nights where probably my DSL isn't as fast the videos would repeatedly halt while loading/buffering.

Netflix is great option as well, as you can sign-up on the web. I haven't view my first movie yet, but it appears I have to select few movies from the web and put them in "instant queue" so that the TV can pickup and play. Streamable titles on Netflix website seemed to be very limited to some OLD movies!! Didn't see any new ones ... Certainly great for watching some TV series such as Heros or Boston Legal...

There is another instant HD movie streaming service call Vudu. You can either rent or own movies. Menu choices are all in HD, but rental/purchase both have different prices for SD or HD versions. Very nice user interface on screen menu choices, as oppose to Netflix that have pretty much none.

Yahoo Widget has customizable weather forecast by location, finance, news, video, and flickr if you use for pictures. Not much third party widgets yet. There is Twitter that is note worthy. If you are die hard Yahoo user and wouldn't mind see the snippets on a bar on the bottom of your TV screen, then it can be of real value to you.

As for playing personal media, you can play from USB storage device or over the network via shared folder on Windows. I hook up an external USB hard drive full of videos, music, and pictures. The TV can play them and combine music and picture. It certainly can play more video formats than PlayStation 3... Also it will let you navigate folders, which is much better than PS3 that can't go two levels deep. It's network supports Common Internet File System so you can share folders. But it won't recognize media servers that PS3 use including TVersity, etc.

All in all, NetCast is nice feature if you don't have more room for another media player (like Roku), a BD player with Netflix, game consoles, or computer hooked up. If you have room, then it may be worthwhile to buy the 50PS60 and spend the $300 - $350 on a PS3 or XBox or $100 on a Roku player. For me, it's worth it if the price difference for this feature is only $100 extra, unless you have kids that hog your computer all the time for YouTubing...
