We originally saw this TV at Bestbuy with a price of $399.99 (March or April 2009). We weren't sure if it would fit in the space we had so we got measurements and went home. We were also hoping they would have the TV on sale. Lo, and behold, it went up in price $130.00!!! We watched for months for someone to have it on sale again. The picture is wonderful and, so far, we haven't run into any problems with the functions.Get more detail about Samsung LN26B460 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.

We tried 3 or 4 other small white kitchen tv's over the past 12 months and they were all unacceptable. While the Toshiba is not without it's flaws, it is heads above the others that we tried at home. There are several annoying features however. It takes forever to change channels and has a moderately slow start up. The picture quality is good however, even when viewed from the side and the sound is a real bonus. It's also nice to have the DVD player when our 3 year old niece visits which is fairly often. The price is good and we would purchase this product again and recommend it (even though my wife taped over a bright red light that serves no purpose whatsoever on the front of the tv when it is NOT in use).Get more detail about Toshiba 15LV506 15.6-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with Built in DVD, White.

This TV is awesome. Everything about it is great and it's a great deal for the money. Panasonics are the best. I based my purchase on other reviews on this website and this was an excellent choice. Came with a free BlueRay, which is nice but not needed if you're using a HD DVR receiver. Get more detail about Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-P54S1 54-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, Black.

Decent tv for the price, the settings to adjust color and picture aren't difficult to use but difficult to get the picture I desire. The size is okay for an average size bedroom (12 X 12) but if I had it to do over I probably would choose a 26 inch or larger. Get more detail about LG 22LH20 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black.

I purchased a 32" Sony KDL-32L4000 model through an Amazon retail partner, ABT of Chicago. It arrived quickly and worked beautifully for 13 months. Then, the picture went haywire, with shimmering , curtain like things covering the screen. I have seen this condition described in other reviews of this product.
Sony live chat worked with me and concluded there was a major failure somewhere in the system. They recommended a service center 140 miles from my home. I took the set to two electronics shops in the city near me and both of them said it was not worth fixing. Mother boards at $200.00 + each would need to be replaced and even then no guarantee of reliable performance. I donated it to a recycling center. Of course it was one month out of warranty.

At the suggestion of the repair shops, I went to Wal Mart and bought a Vizio model listed as a "best buy" by Consumer Reports for $440.00. So far it is beautiful.
I have been a Sony loyalist for years, but no more. A $700.00 TV gone in a year.
This problem may have been fixed in newer models such as the KDL-32L5000. Just a word to the wise about my experience.Get more detail about Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-32L5000 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black.

Overall, a great TV at a great price. I'm not going to bore you with a bunch of positives you've read a hundred times, so I'll just leave you with one caveat. Panasonic's plasmas have a little known reputation of degrading contrast ratio over time. This is caused by the "black levels" or "minimum luminescence levels" inexplicably increasing with hours of use. That is to say the "color black" is nice and deep when the TV is new, but it becomes increasingly gray once you attain a few hundred hours of use. As of now, no one knows why this happens, or if it's effecting every single unit, but it seems to be affecting a fair number of users both with these '09 models and several from prior years. You can read about the problem here: [...] It has unfortunately affected my unit, and it's pretty noticeable. The Contrast Ratio was cut in half at about 400 hours of use and the TV now looks like an average quality LCD in a dark room.
